Course Instruction

The Gulf Shores Golf Club closed for business on November 13, 2005 to begin a major renovation. The Club hired internationally renowned golf course architects Jay and Carter Morrish to design and incorporate changes that would beautify the 18 holes and make the course more challenging. The Morrishes are a father-son design team and have designed several courses included in the top 100 courses in the United States.  Jay Morrish worked with Robert Trent Jones, George Fazio and Jack Nicklaus before pursuing his own design firm.  The renovation lengthened the par 71 course by 300 yards and added numerous water features, enhanced fairways and additional bunkers.

The goals to beautify and enhance the course, and to make play more challenging, have been achieved. There are now holes that are so dramatically changed that you cannot stand in the fairway and believe you are on the same course. The Morrish group delivered on their promise and the result is a spectacular product that will be the envy of the Gulf Coast golf community.
